Hope you are having a fantastic July 4 weekend!
Yesterday Elissa 2014 had a terrific day celebrating our country and our city at the Capitol Hill parade, the Palisades parade, and the Old Soldiers' Home celebration.
A special thanks to all the volunteers who came out to support integrity, accountability, and investing in D.C.! We collected a lot of signatures and met a lot of residents. Thanks to Kesh Ladduwahetty and Rebecca Brink for leading us in signature collection at the two parades. And a big thanks to our campaign chair Kathy Patterson, for joining us in the Palisades!
I think what sets our campaign apart is that we use the talents of our supporters. Yesterday that talent was on full display. Accompanying me at the two parades was a progressive leader in his own right, Teddy Roosevelt, who more likely known to our younger residents as one of the Racing Presidents at the Nats game. I want to give a special shout out and thanks to Bill Goodwin, who made Teddy for us and made sure Teddy had an awesome soundtrack at the Palisades parade. Also big thanks to Phil Oliff and Bob Price, who were our Teddys at the parades.
If you missed us at Palisades yesterday, here's a snippet:
