A Focus on Making DC a Place of Opportunity for All
Elissa Silverman has focused her career on making the District and its government accountable, responsive, and accessible to residents through her work as a budget analyst, reporter, and progressive reformer. In 2014, she was elected to an at-large seat on the D.C. Council. She currently serves as the chair of the Council’s Committee on Labor and Workforce Development.
Elissa is running for re-election on November 6, 2018.
In her first term, Elissa has prioritized making DC a place of opportunity for all. Making sure that the District remains affordable, especially for longtime residents and growing families has been a major focus of her legislative agenda. Elissa also believes that District residents deserve the best return on investment for the tax dollars they pay to the city.
